On February 24th, the Sixth Grade Students participated in a Jr. Master Chef Challenge. The students were divided into teams, where each had exactly the same ingredients at their work stations, was given the same theme, the same time limit, and the freedom to let their culinary expertise shine.

Through the craziness and excitement of trying to complete the challenge and make a masterpiece at the same time, students realized at the end of the activity that each group came up with a totally different creation because everyone is different, has different ideas, and our different perspectives is what enriches our class environment.

Our weekly Journeys selection, «The Fruit Bowl Project,» gives students a chance to read about a group of kids their age and see the numerous ways they tackle their project, learning to respect and value the diversity in their class.
