In AP English class, 11th Grade students wrote poems. Today we share the poem written by Cristina Miranda.

Congratulations!

Have the courage to open me up,
Open my walls and roam through my world.
Have the courage to scribble a little something on one of my corners.
Keep adding to my story,
That story that lies between my pages
And my boring red cover.

You, who somehow between all those like me on the shelves
Still picked me, perhaps that red cover was a little brighter than the others.
You, who had the courage to read through me, find all my plot twists.
Have the courage to decipher me, beat all of those who have failed in the past.

After all, you may still find me unsolvable
Like that forgotten book at the back of the room,
A puzzle of words pretending to be a story.
Messy, complicated.
