Students in Honors English are writing sonnets and will be sharing them with us. Today, we will read one by María Franco Aguilar:

What People Don’t See In Sports

Playing a sport never gets easier,
You give your all, but it’s never enough.
It may look easy, but it’s really tough.
Day by day you try, but it gets drearier.

Playing a sport never gets easier,
everytime you miss events just to be enough
and the coach’s attitude towards you is rough,
you don’t give up, though it gets wearier.

Playing a sport never gets easier,
though, the love for the sport is bigger than,
the frustration that never gets clearer.

Loss may arrive, but you stick to your plan.
This sport is my whole, making days feel cheerier.
And highs and lows, I ignore to play while I can.
