Students in Honors English are writing sonnets and will be sharing them with us. Today, we will read one by Camila Bosch Loumeau:

Another Day

The yellow sun wakes me up, it shines bright.
I open my eyes and see all the clouds.
I hear all the birds making funny sounds.
The day begins, but I wish it were night.
I get out of bed and get a bite.
The morning breeze from the trees gives me peace.
Life is messy–we have nature, at least.
It’s another day, yet another fight.

The world gives us plenty of bright chances.
I waste my day, like it is not a blessing.
Today is yesterday, lost in glances.
I am lost in doubt and second–guessing.
I am stuck still, while everyone dances
I waste all the gifts, without stressing.
